About Us

The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs is a confederation of individual and autonomous clubs established across Hawai‘i and the U.S. Continent.  Founded in 1918 by Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana’ole (Delegate to the United States House of Representatives) the chartered clubs are organized into five (5) councils:


Moku o Keawe (Hawai‘i Council)

Nā Hono A‘o Pi‘ilani (Maui Council)

Ke One o Kākuhihewa (O‘ahu Council)

Moku o Manokalanipō (Kaua‘i Council)

Nā Lei Makalapua (Mainland Council)


The Mainland Council of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (Nā Lei Makalapua) is a 501(c)(4) organization, chartered in 1988 with an IRS ruling year of 1990.


Currently there are seventeen (17) Hawaiian Civic Clubs located across the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
